 Steel Alloy Material

953 - Mar-Aging Stainless Steel UTS: 1750~2050 MPa
A specially developed "Martensitic-aging" stainless steel alloy that can achieve tensile strength in excess 2000 MPa, this has strength-to-weight ratio that can take on the best in the world. The resilient ride of steel, very high impact strength (similar to armor plating) and fatigue resistance combine to provide and extraordinary material that can be used for tubing.
Benefits: Ultra strong steel, with the advantage of a stainless finish for maximum weight reduction from very thin walls.

853 - Seamless Air-Hardening Heat-Treated Steel UTS: 1250~1400 MPa
The benefits of air-hardening steel are particularly noticeable in the weld area where, unlike conventional steel alloys, strength can actually increase after cooling in air immediately after welding. This feature is result of the chemistry of the elements that make up 853, which promote the formation of a fine grain structure that is a major factor leading to good properties. 853 tubing is heated to give high strength and damage resistance
Benefits:: High strength, durability and fatigue life make this material the choice material for strong rider, BMX, downhill and endurance rides.

631 - Seamless Air-Hardening Cold-Worked Steel UTS: 800~900 MPa
Using the same chemistry as 853, this variant is cold-worked before use by frame builders, and also has the advantages of air hardening after welding. This alloy has taken over from Reynolds "531" range with 10% higher strength, to provide tough, durable and comfortable frames suitable for long distance riding.

725 - Heat Treated Chrome-Moly Steel UTS: 1080~1280 MPa
Using industry standard steel, Reynolds mandrel-butt and heat-treat this alloy. 725 can be TIG welded and used within "Designer Select: combination including our premium 853 and 631 stays.

525 - Cold Worked Chrome-Moly Steel UTS: 700~900 MPa
Mandrel butted for accurate profiles, and available in wide range of shapes. Weight savings from butting and cold working provide competitively light framesets.
